mPedigree and Toyota Tsusho successfully concludes first phase of digital integration project.

Early in 2018, Toyota Tsusho Fertilizer Africa TTFA a new entrant in the Fertilizer industry felt the need to run a promotion. The main objectives of this promotion include:

  • To introduce the new product Baraka Fertilizer – this aggressive promotion targeted both Farmers and Agro dealers.
  • To entice existing customers to buy more fertilizer – with the main prizes being tractor, motorbikes and phones farmers were sure to buy as many bags as possible so as to increase their chances of winning.

How it worked

During packing , TTFA inserted promotion cards in ALL Fertilizer bags. The farmer would then find the scratch card in the fertilizer bag after they bought and opened it. The farmer is expected to scratch and text the hidden pin to 1393 he would then receive a message confirming that he has been enrolled for the Baraka Kibao Bonanza Promotion. The more successful entries the more the increased chances of winning.

Long after the promo was over, farmers continued scratching and texting thus making it a practice to confirm genuineness of the product, increase brand awareness and loyalty, as TTFA’s innovation, powered by mPedigree’s Goldkeys technology set them apart in the market.
